why add large number file cause memory overflow?

I add more than 40000 file into database ,
use -Xmx14000m ,but still say memory not enough.
do in basex,basexclient.

thanks for your mail. How do you proceed when adding new files? Do you use the ADD command or XQuery? Does the problem persist with the latest snapshot [1]?
