Hi, I am trying to enable gzipped compression in RESTXQ. I have been modifying web.xml without success. Where should the filter element [1] be put? Thanks. Joseph [1] (http://www.srccodes.com/m/p/article/12/configure-gzip-filter-on-jetty-8-for-dynamic-compression-of-contents)

Dear Joseph, could you give us some more details on what you tried so far? Does your client accept zipped data? Thanks, Christian

Hi Christian, I added the elements <filter> and <filter-mapping> (see link below) to the web.xml in BaseX. I tried to put them both as children of <web-app> and then as children of servlet (RESTXQ), but neither seems to work. I tried to see whether the content was gzipped using Chrome (Developer), but I was not able to see the specification that the content was gzipped (in the Response Headers section). Thanks. Hm, it works on my system. If you start Jetty via BaseXHTTP, you will need to add jetty-servlets-8.1.18.v20150929.jar to the classpath. Otherwise, you will get an exception on command-line (which is why I assume you are working with BaseX as a war file?)
