Hi,
I installed version 13.0 and encounterd a flaw in the position-counter bottom-right of the editor: when inserting characters the counter shows the value 1.
But the main reason for the mail is that I saw that type declarations have been updated: recursive declaration references are now possible. Nice.

Hi Rob,
Thanks for the observation. Any observations on side effects are more than welcome (we are improving the BaseX GUI text rendering and search/replace features in depth).
A new snapshot is available [1].
Best,
Christian

Hi Rob (cc to the list),
Thanks for the suggestion. I have added a new menu item »Save a copy as…«, which will add the saved copy in a new tab. A new snapshot is online [1].
Hope this helps,
Christian

I expect other basex-user also to work this way. But often I need both files open in the GUI. I like the way Notepad++ supports this: Files -> save copy as .... and when holding shift when saving the copy it opens the file in the editor'. So both file are in the editor. Just an idea. Hello, Christi
since we are speaking about suggestions for the GUI... I have some minor issues that bother me a bit when working with BaseX GUI:
1) Single-window mode: when I open an xquery file from the file browser, it always opens (at least in Linux, don't know about Windows) in a new window with all previously opened tabs in it, while the previously opened window stays opened. Is there a way how to make it work in single-window mode?
2) Wrapped lines behave in a different way than in all other text editors: when a line of text takes up more lines in the editor and I navigate through the text with keybord arrows, the cursor only stops at the first of those wrapped lines. Is there any chance of changing this behaviour?
3) What would I find very useful would be some simple navigation for the currently opened xquery file, i. e. box where one could see all declarations of functions etc. and go directly to them. I would love such a box, since some of my xquery scripts tend to grow quite long!
But, I have been living with BaseX GUI without those features for years, and I love it anyway :-)
Best,
Jan

Hi Jan,
It’s a good time indeed to ask for GUI enhancements.
A new snapshot is online [1]; your feedback will be appreciated. The single-instance request was a bit tricky to implement, due to technical restrictions of the JVM/operating systems: A little server thread must be started along with the GUI to delegate files to the current instance.
Best,
Christian
