Hi, I've been using the official Docker image previously at https://hub.docker.com/u/basex , but it has disappeared. Are these images now located elsewhere, or is there a preferred alternative? Thanks

Hi Matthew, I don't know what happened to the official image, but it had no updates for many years. I think the last version was for BaseX 9 [1]. The conclusion of issue [#2051] was: given that people have differing requirements and priorities e.g. minimal size, cross-platform etc, developers are better off creating and building their own using a custom Dockerfile. That said, I maintain an unofficial cross-platform published image [3]. I use this for quick prototypes, that may later turn into a custom App. It may be good for your needs, or give you some ideas for how to create your own. Hi Matthew , The Docker image was abandoned as it was not updated for a long time. Please visit [1] for the ongoing discussion on the future of the BaseX Docker image. Hope this helps, Christian [1] https://github.com/BaseXdb/basex/issues/2051

Hi Matthew and all, In case it helps, here is an example of a Docker script that uses Gradle to download and run a specific version of BaseX, version 12.4 (latest). https://github.com/vincentml/balisage-2024-open-mic/blob/main/Dockerfile This is just another possible method.
