As XQuery and Java have different type systems, XQuery arguments must be converted to equivalent Java types, and the result must be converted back to XQuery types. The type mapping A table with all mappings is listed [[#Data Types|at the end]] of this article. Most notably If a Java function is not found, it may help to explicitly cast your XQuery values. For example, if a Java function expects an integera primitive {{Code|int}}, you will need to convert your XQuery integer values value to {{Code|xs:int}}.
