The built-in editor of BaseX is a powerful tool which allows you to edit text documents (XML, JSON, JavaScript, …), for write and run XQuery files code and modules, assemble [[Commands#Basics|Command Scripts]] , editing text documents (XML, JSON, JavaScript, …), and develop developing [[RESTXQ]] applications:
* The editor offers native '''Syntax syntax highlighting''' for XQuery, XML, XQuery, JSON and JavaScript files.* XQuery, XML and JSON files will be '''parsed''' in real-time and '''errors''' will be highlighted.
* XQuery code and command scripts can be '''executed''' (via Ctrl Enter or by clicking on the green triangle).
