Welcome to the documentation of BaseX – a light-weight, high-performance and scalable XML database system and XPath/XQuery processor with full support for the W3C Update and Full Text extensions. This documentation is based on BaseX 6.6; some features might not be available in earlier versions.

Getting Started

The Getting Started Section gives you a quick introduction to BaseX. We suggest to start with the graphical frontend (BaseX GUI) as this is the easiest way to access your XML data and get an idea of how BaseX works.
