As values in XQuery and Java are of have different typesystems, function XQuery arguments must be converted to equivalent Java types, and results the result must be mappedconverted back to XQuery types. The supported used mappings are provided listed [[#Data Tyes|at the end]] of this article. Most notably, if a Java function expects an integer, you will need to convert your XQuery integer values to {{Code|xs:int}}.
