problem with namespaces in baseX - Namespaces are inserted only once in the database
Hello,
While trying to execute a replace query [1], we face the following problem: The new "capabilities" node contains a group of subnodes which have in their definition the same namespace definition (xmlns namespace). The problem is that in the result after the replacement the namespace definition is only in the first node (ows:ServiceIdentification). In the following nodes the majority of the attributes in the namespace definition are missing and as a consequence the xml file is corrupted as the definition of the elements are undefined. An example of a corrupted node where the attributes of the namespace definition are missing is mentioned at [2].

Regards Yannis
Yannis,
thanks for your report and the examples. One question ahead: does the problem also occur with the latest snapshot [1]? The next official release will be aligned with the XMLPrague conference [2].
Thanks, Christian

Christinan,
Thank you for the quick reply. We changed the baseXDB with the new release but we also had the same problem.
Regards Yannis

Hi Yannis,
yes, I see that the required xmlns:xlink declaration is missing in the resulting document. We will have a look at that!
Thanks, Christian

I guess I need more information to reproduce the problem. Could you please provide us with the database instance or, ideally, an sscce?

I can give you access to our database (I just tested with BaseX78-20140203.150949) if that can be helpful. Let me know and I'll send you the credentials to your e-mail.
Thanks a lot, Panagiotis

Yes, this would be helpful. Feel free to write me in private.

Hi Yannis, hi Panagiotis,
our team member Lukas managed to fix the namespace bug just in time. A new snapshot is available [1], and we will be glad to get your confirmation if the problem is fixed.
And a little announcement to everyone else: BaseX 7.8 will be released this afternoon!

Written for BaseX 7.7, 7.8. BaseX may have changed since: please check the current documentation.
